Jesus makes it very clear to his disciples and to us that there is no glory without the cross.

Jesus took time with his men.

He knew that his mission was to teach them God’s Truth above everything else.

Jesus did not allow distractions to take him off course.

Matthew 20:25-27 But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 26 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave.

2 Different Kinds of Greatness:

  • Receiving the approval and applause of people
  • Receiving the approval and applause of God.

The measure of true greatness is:

  • How many do I serve?
  • How many am I willing to help?
  • How can I make a difference in the lives of others?

The mark of greatness is when we learn to treat everyone the same.

We welcome people and we help people simply because they are people.

Distraction is the enemy of spiritual power

Prayer is the discipline we need to remind us how much we need God.
