God gives spiritual gifts to every true believer for the main purpose of promoting the spiritual growth and development of the church. 

1 Peter 4:10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

God gives the Fruit of the Spirit to every true believer for the main purpose of promoting personal spiritual growth and character. 

 Galatians 5:22-23. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

When we grow in the fruit of faith, there is a strength of character. 

Faith is an endurance that holds on in spite of

• difficulties
• opposition
• persecution
• pain

Endurance

• The act, quality, or power of withstanding hardship or stress.
• The state or fact of persevering.
• Continuing existence; duration.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.
